Designing Product Page for Better UX

Designing a product page for better User Experience (UX) is crucial for converting visitors into customers. A well-designed product page should be informative, easy to navigate, and visually appealing. Here are key elements and considerations for achieving a great product page UX.
As a UX/UI designer We've spent many years designing Product Details Page for Online shops. We've tested, re-designed, testing how users interpret and interact with product pages on web site.
Through observations made via analytical tools, We've noticed that most visitors repeatedly abandon sites due to issues with product page layout, content types, or features.
This makes the product page is most important part of your users’ e-commerce experience.
Here are some checklist to design better product page:
1. Clear and Engaging Product Information:
High-Quality Images: Use multiple high-resolution images from various angles.
Allow for zoom functionality aslo.Clear Product Name: Make it clear and easy to understand what the product is.
For ex. Don't write ❌ "Samsung Smartphone"
Write with some details ✅ "Samsung Smartphone S24 model, 256 GB, White color"
2. Strong Call to Action (CTA):
Placement: The "Add to Cart" or "Buy Now" button should be easily visible and above the details. Don't hide it under the scroll.
Contrasting Color: Make the CTA stand out from the rest of the page. Use primary color
3. User Trust and Social Proof:
Customer Reviews and Ratings: Display reviews, ideally with a star rating. Allow users to sort and filter reviews.
Buyer uploaded photos: Photos or videos from customers can be helpful and brings more trust.
4. Intuitive Navigation and Layout:
Clean and Uncluttered Design: Avoid information overload. Use gaps and paddings effectively, For ex 24 - 32px between elements or cards.
Information Hierarchy: Organize content so users can easily find what they're looking for.
Mobile view: Ensure the page looks and functions perfectly on all small devices as well.
5. User Concerns and Questions:
Shipping and Returns Information: Clearly state shipping costs, estimated delivery times, and return policies. Often placed in a dedicated section or expandable accordion.
FAQs Section: Show common questions about the product, usage. Put it below all info about the product.
6. Personalization (if applicable):
Recently viewed items: Remind users of products they've shown interest in.
Wishlist: Allow users to save items for later.
Personalized recommendations: Based on browse history or past purchases
By focusing on these elements, you can create product pages that not only look good but also effectively guide users towards making a purchase, ultimately leading to better conversion rates and customer satisfaction.
